I get automatic updates from windows like everyone does, normally I notice a little orange ! next to the shut down button. So normally I turn off the pc and it takes a while because it's updating itself. This is all fine. Then when I next switch the pc on it says configuring windows updates 0% don't switch off your computer. Normally that screen would only be there for a few seconds.
This time it's that second screen that is the problem. It stays at zero. After about 5 minutes it gives up and says update failed, reverting changes. But of course the update manager still isn't satisfied, so there's that little orange ! again. And the process continues every time I turn off/on the pc. Meaning my once fast start up has now slowed dramatically.
This is a very recent problem and has only happened twice so far. Does anyone know what the cause is? Or how to fix it? Or perhaps just how to disable windows update, until the next update comes out which hopefully might fix the problem?
