Hi all.
I'm having trouble with the program. I have made a movie, and the movie is in 6 parts. When i go to export the video, I'm not sure what format or profile (especially profile - please explain) to use. I usually just select avi, but for the profile i have no clue.

I did a test, and made it with microsoft video1. It worked(picture was horrible though). So i made the movie again, this time changing the profile to "DivX 6.1.1 Codec[2 Logical CPUs]" but when i tried to burn the movie with nero vision onto a dvd (so that i can play it on a dvd), it had no sound. I have realised that it says "Audio: No Compression, 1Channel" in the output file. I burned it anyway, and its now a silent film!

I'm confused.
How do i get the sound to capture (even though when i save the file onto my hard drive, it has sound) onto the dvd that i am burning, while still having a good quality dvd. I have tried re-booting comp, starting the project again, and no difference.
- What am i doing wrong?
- What is the best format and 'profile'??

thanks for any help:)

The best format for Nero Vision is avi. If you don't have a video converter you can get one free at download.com. Once your video is converted into avi format, you shouldn't have a problem with the audio once it's burned onto dvd.

Good luck.

Standard DVD players read the .Vob format, the files you have now are in AVI format..

I would recommend you download ConvertXtoDVD. Ive been using it for a year now, never had a problem!

It will convert your video files to the dvd format readable by all standard dvd players, then burn automatically to DVD!

it is easy to use, fast and it works perfect for me.. give it a try, you'll love it

1. Download ConvertXtoDVD here:

http://convertxtodvd.burner-software.com/

It can convert any video file.. like wmv, mpeg, asf, mp4, avi to dvd

2. Add or drag-n-drop as many video files as the DVD can handle

3. Insert blank DVD

4. Click "Convert"

5. Enjoy watching those video files on your home DVD player! =)

ConvertXtoDVD has a lot of extra nice features too,

for example you can make your own ANIMATED DVD menu or auto-generate it, add subtitles, auto-burn to dvd or save your conversion.
