1 - Download VLC, which plays basically any and every audio or video format conceivable. I use this as my default video player and it works great. You can download it from here: http://videolan.org
2 - Download Flip4Mac, which is a Windows Media codec pack for QuickTime. This means you'll be able to play Windows Media files in QuickTime (or any media player that uses QuickTime for decoding), and it'll let you play WMV and WMA files in your browser using the QuickTime plug-in. I'm fairly sure it also lets you open WMA and WMV files in Quick Look. You can get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx
