I am not interested in partitioning it or formatting it, I want to completely delete it and then start over with Ubuntu . How do I do that ?

if you have a live cd or usb, during the installation process it will give you the option to completely erase windows and just click it.

Here are some steps to install Ubuntu Linux and replace everything in your existing Windows hard drive.
1. Create a Ubuntu installation CD (download an .iso file and burn it to a CD)
2. Insert the new Ubuntu CD and restart your windows machine. (some computers require you to use a shortcut to select the boot menu, most will boot from CD automatically)
3. Select Install Ubuntu instead of Test Ubuntu.
4. Now you're in the graphical installer which is simple enough, just make sure you select erase entire disk on the partition management screen.
The steps are detailed with video along with many other Ubuntu tutorials at

1.Grab your ubuntu disk.
2.Put disk in the computer.
3.Boot into th computer.
4.Go through the ubuntu installer and when you get to the partitioning/formating window. Click something that says "erase and use entire disk" it will say something like that. Than you wait for ubuntu to install. It will delete windows while it is installing. Good luck! Don't forget to install the codecs. Ubuntu-restricted-extras.

Ensure that the BIOS boots from CD, insert the CD/DVD which Ubuntu is on and then follow the instructions and you'll have Ubuntu installed in no time.
P.S
Before you do anything make sure you back up everything

When you boot to the install setup, when it asks you how you would like to partition the disks, select, use the entire disk for Ubuntu
