How do we install ati radeon hd 4550 with Windows 7?

We get an error that windows 7 64 bit, can't open AsIo.sys when it starts up, and that seems related to the ati radeon hd 4550 graphics card. Everything seems to run fine most of the time, except for periodic switches to large icons from small. We reinstalled the new radeon drivers from their site but that did not work, even though it installed without apparent errors.
Thanks

If you can’t find the right ati drivers manually I would recommend just getting a software program that can do it for you. There is a program I use which will find drivers for just about all hardware devices. The best part is it takes a snapshot of your system specifications and matches the right driver to go with it. Perform a free driver scan at:

Also, you can get the driver from their official sites:

It depends on the resolution you are gaming at. The higher the resolution, the more powerful the graphics card needs to be. The HD 4550 is a very low end card and not suitable for gaming much above 1280x800. It's only a step above integrated video. Add to that the fact that 2GB of memory is too little for today's games. If you have a dual core processor, you will need at least 4GB memory and at least a HD 6770 to game comfortably up to 1680x1050.
