I have DVD fab platinum ed. I got it to rip movies to my HD, and eventually set up a home entertainment network and a home media server. but our DVD playing program doesn't read ISO's. I can watch the movies only by opening dvd fab and then using the preview window, which you right click and make full screen. but it doesn't have anything but basic functionality. any thing out there that plays ISO movie files? or any other suggestions?

2 options for you:

a. download daemon tools and mount that iso, you will find a new dvd player icon on your computer, you can play it with a dvd player program

daemon tools

VLC player (dvd and video player)

b. rip iso to avi/mp4/wmv/etc regular video formats, thus you can play it in windows media player/quicktime on your computer

1. You may try daemon tools, it can help you mount the DVD ISO file, then you can use windows media player or VLC player to play the movie. They are both free, you can google search for them.

2. Or you may try this dvd converter, it can help you convert DVD ISO file to AVI or WMV video, then you can play it on your computer easily. And here is a guide about how to dwonload and use the DVD converter

Hope it helps. Contact me if you have any other question.

An ISO is a disk image, not a movie format. You'll need to burn it with software like imgburn if you want it to work correctly.

Rip your dvds using Magic DVD Ripper, and rip them to *.avi
