There is no update for Micro. Inter. Expl. for Windows 98/SE users. Now what do I do? Am I screwed?

Internet Explorer updates for 98/SE users? Microsoft no longer supporting this. Why?

The short answer is that the OS is almost TEN years old. MSFT has their hands full keeping up with the bugs in XP & Vista. So, they don't have the time to fix 98 because it's, well, obsolete.

Microsoft is no longer supporting any of Windows 98/SE you should upgrade to Windows XP, or install Linux on your computer if it will not accommodate Windows XP, however if you choose to remain using 98, then you should download Firefox and use it instead of Internet Explorer.

They stopped supporting Win98 a few years ago unfortunately. They claime they're going to do the same with XP soon, but I wouldn't count on it.



You're pretty much out of luck. What problem are you having that you require an update? You can run pretty securely with the final 98 updates, and a decent firewall.

I think you are fortunate you've been this long operating with Windows 98. Computers these days are old after two years, and a new one does not cost much. As little as 3 to 400 dollars for desk tops.

welcome to the monoply called windows, they stopped updating , and supporting win98/se awhile ago , and well i reccomend you go to xp .. atleast they are supporting xp still , but that wont be for long, after they get vista debugged , they will stop supporting xp as well .. once that happens your goin to have to get a bigger better computer to run vista, or go to lunix OS instead. i would give it a year before they stop supporting xp, then its off to the grave yard for the older computers....

those updates will not matter for older stuff, but new programs will screw up your comp, so go buy yourself a new OS or computer that can actually run vista
