No operating system is virus free. Linux is not that popular with the majority of society, so it doesn't generally have thse threats. I am using PCLinuxOS 2009-1 with the KDE Windows Environment. However if you dual boot with Windows as an operating system also and have wine installed in Linux you should install Klam antivirus program. You will get virus warnings caused by the wine connection to Windows, but normally can ignore them. I have never found a virus on my Linux operating system.

It's not true - there's no such thing as a virus-free platform, just a platform that not many people write viruses for - yet.
Just search for Linux anti virus, or go to the PCLinuxOS forum (http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php ) and either search or ask what people are using.

Generally you don't need anti-virus. However, there may be one or two products you can add if you want.
ClamAV is one anti-virus for Linux if you want to try it...but it is more for email checking...
There are probably a few others, search the internet and see...

Linux is a virus free OS. I am also using Linux's Ubuntu 8.10 OS.
