you'll have go into the bios, 'delete' change the boot order to your cd drive (have your windows cd in there), exit the bios saving that setting. Then the computer will restart. From there follow the prompts to install a new version of the operating system.

You can actually have 2 versions of the same operating system on your computer if you want to retrieve your files, but for space and organization go back and format to have just 1 os on there)

If you have a recovery partition alongside your C drive in My Computer, you would press F11 during boot and follow easy directions to reinstall Windows. If you don't have a recovery partition, many PC's come with recovery cd's that will do the same job.Or they come with a complete OS disk.In either case you would boot with that disk in the cd player and follow instructions. Some PC's require you to burn your own rescue cd,and you should check your owners manual for that info.Or you can borrow a friends OS disk, that is the same as your OS,and boot from it,using the product key on the rear or bottom of your PC when requested.Don't forget to back up your data first.

You can go to best buy, staples, or another place that knows a lot about computers. Computer operating systems such as Macintosh or Windows or very expensive to install and purchase. I hope this helps.

You need an install disc for the operating system.
