I have a word document that I was copying images from the internet into to print off for cutting out and using later. But the last time I opened the document it said there wasn't enough memory to display or print the images, so I closed the window. The next day I opened that doc again, and it was ok, I pasted some more images in and when I went to save it it said the same thing about not having enough memory and half the images showed up as empty white square when I printed it.
No other windows were open at the time and I have plenty of room on the C drive to save it, so why is it not displaying some images when I save or print the document?? How can I get them to go from white squares back to the original image?

This is an issue with the size of the graphics. You don't provide the version, which would be very helpful, but I'll cross my fingers and hope its 2002 or above. Open the document after you've freshly rebooted your PC. Double-click the first graphic. Click the Compress button, and choose to compress "all the graphics..." in the document. Save the file and close it.

If you want to test:

BEFORE you compress the graphics, hit File-->Properties, and check the size on the General tab. Check the size again after you've compressed your graphics and saved your document.

Also, when copying from the internet, you MUST know this... when I create a website, I don't "paste" the graphic in there. I link to it. When you copy from that website, that graphic is still linked. Suppose you copy from www.mysite.com and tomorrow, for some reason, mysite.com is unavailable (I didn't pay my hosting bill, maybe). That will cause your graphics to disappear. When pasting from the web, you MUST use Edit-->Paste special. See the complete article:

It's not talking about drive space, it's talking about memory which is a different thing. I'd agree, start with cleaning your cache, history and temporary files.

In XP, it's Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup.

Try cleaning out your cache and history and delete temporary files.
