my firefox flash plugin always crashes?

Question

Every time i go and check my email or browse youtube to watch a few vids the flash player plug-in always crashes. Im at a loss for what to do ive updated the flash player after uninstalling it and reinstalling it, ive uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. i dont really wont to format my computer as it has pictures of my dog before he died and i dont have a backup option. any help would be greatly appreciated

I did some research on Flash crashing in Firefox and found ways to stop the process of it crashing. I was tired of Zynga games on Facebook causing flash and then my browser right after to crash. I would have this happen just seconds or minutes after starting EACH game I played so here is what I found....



Do NOT do these steps unless you fully understand how to do them after reading. You are getting into your computers system settings and you want to make sure you are changing the FLASH settings ONLY because when you

are doing Step 2, there are other settings you could change that may not be good and have unwanted results.



I hold NO RESPONSIBILITY for any settings other than flash that you change that cause unwanted results so do these steps at YOUR OWN RISK ....



It helped for me though. Doing just step 1 may not stop it from crashing. It didnt help for me until I did BOTH steps.





Step 1)



If you have the most up to date Firefox and Flash just skip to the part that says (Disable hang protection)

Step 2)



In some cases you may want to disable the "out-of-process plugins" (OOPP) crash protection feature; e.g., to troubleshoot problems that first appeared in Firefox 3.6.4 or above. To disable crash protection, go to about:config and set all dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.* preferences to false. This will prevent the

"plugin-container" process from running and all plugins will run within the Firefox browser process.





Basically what the above is saying is just type in about:config in the address bar where you type in stuff like www.facebook.com and then in the FILTER search bar type dom.ipc.plugins.enabled Then double-click each

preference to change the value from "true" to false, as shown below on Windows.

Again, do these steps at YOUR OWN RISK, and I am just passing along info that helped me, not forcing anyone to do this.

Turn off the Firefox plugin hang protection.



If your computer is too slow for the flash application to respond before 45 seconds (ten before the newest update) then Firefox will shut down the page to protect the whole browser from hanging. This happens whether or not the application has actually crashed. If you are not using an older computer and believe that flash is actually crashing, then you can look into blocking flash entirely so that you can at least use the non flash portions of the pages.

* Try to uninstall the current flash player version. (Read this official guide to uninstall flash plugin: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html





* Use official uninstaller tool to remove all flash elements from your computer.



* After completing the above task download flash player 9 instead of the latest version. However, latest version is preferred. for latest version visit this link: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Sometimes there are intricate browser flash conflicts and changing the versions is often helpful.

* Update your sound drivers if possible since the videos may simply crash or freeze because of the corrupted or missing drivers.



1) Open Device Manager



2) Find the sound-card device



3) Remember the name of the device



4) Uninstall it.



5) After doing this restart your system and update the drivers if they are not automatically updated.

Copied somewhere the pictures.



Then do this:-

1. Create System Restore Point.

2. Do a Disk Check.

3. Install Ccleaner and run it once.

4. Install Defraggler and run it.

5. Restart again and see how.

Uninstall Firefox altogether , then do a fresh install of Firefox .
