OMG!! I had the same problem a little while ago.The only way fix that is one you have to get a new browser.I got Flock cuz it was the only one that worked. So if you have that problem just toss Mozilla Firefox forever.

have you tried checking the settings of the firewall?how did you uninstall the firefox,is it on the normal mode or on the safemode?

try going to safemode (F8 when you have the black screen upon starting the computer) then check add/remove programs, if it's still there , uninstall it.then reinstall in the normal mode.

if problem still occurs, check your firewall/ internet security program. the best way to do this is to turn off the internet security program/anti-virus/firewall then open the firefox, it you see the webpage w/o any problem, then issue is with the security program. if still not working properly,

tried running an anti-spyware scan (try downloading spyware doctor starter edition from download.com -it will scan and remove spywares/trojans and worms that are in the system).

the very last resort here is to reinstall the os.but dont forget to backup files first.email me if you still have a problem.

verify your firewall placing and verify its interior the depended on zone. do you get the comparable subject concerns with cyber web explorer if so then get carry of the latest patches and repair packs and then malwarebytes its a malware application killer if those the two fail try utilising cccleaner and sparkling out the crap documents that would desire to have have been given corrupt.
