I have a table in word that I want to have an autonumber in one of my columns just like Access or do something wich it is as easey as Excel is. Any advice?

Investigate inserting an AutoNum field into the first column:



1. Place the cursor in the first column.

2. Click on the Insert->Field menu item.

3. Select AutoNum in the list box.

4. Click OK.



That should do it.

This might vary slightly dependingon which version of Word you have, but here's how I do it in Word XP:



Select the column you want the autonumber in by clicking its top border(the column will be highlighted)

Under the Format menu, choose Bullets And Numbering

Go to the Numbered tab and select a numbering format (e.g. 1. ,2. ,.. or 1), 2)...)

Click OK.



The numbers will appear in the column and will automatically update as you add/insert rows.
