file without extension?

I have same files (audio) that have no extension so i can't open it. how to convert to MP3?

If files doesnt have any extension, how do you say they are audio files? like I say i have a file cat. , how do you identify its a movies, image or audio or an executable file?



If you see a mp3 icon, or of a wav icon, probably it has a extension and windows wont show up extensions of known file types..



Go to folder options, view, there untick hide extensions of known file types... Apply... Now, all file names will also show extensions...Then see if your file have any extension... As you guess, try giving an .mp3 or .wav extension in file name and see it the file opens... try known popular formats...

If it is an MP3 and you accidentally downloaded it with no extension, just rename the file and add .mp3 to the end.



Windows will probably complain and tell you that you may make the file unusable... click to do it anyhow.

jetaudio is the free audio converter use it..!



otherwise you can record it mannually,

like open jet audio,

set recording,

set mp3 mpeg layer 3,

from left side 2nd option will be " mic/monoMix/sterioMix/aux/Cdplayer " chose steriomix and set the volume of steriomix completly down and up just little bit you know .5%..,



from right side 2nd option you can set your output destination folder,

now run your without extension audio file any audio player and start recording on jetaudio with all setting which i told you..!



if recording doesnt start then set the steriomix volume little bit high..



before doing this also check from audio setting that steriomix must be checked..!

Simple just add *.mp3 to the file example shakira - Latortura add *.mp3 = shakira - Latortura.mp3.



if this doesn't work its because the audio extension is wrong it could be .wmv, .mpeg, mp4. etc

if it doesn't have any extension u can't convert it with any converter.

u can simply changes its extension with the renaming it for example.

song1.mp3

Install any player in your system, aftr that try out playin the audio file..

or wise go to tat file right click, choose open with.. and choose any player and click ok.. It has to play or wise myt b it is not a audio file..



Try universal player it plays everything...
