Mozilla's free Thunderbird.



And, it's likely already installed on your unidentified Linux Distro.



If not, it is in the Distro's Software Repository.

kmail if you are using the kde desktop,

much easier on the eye and highly configurable



i used thunderbird on mdv2011 as i was having a few issues with kmail and akonadi (the personal information manager),



now its all sorted and i have reverted back to kmail

Yeah, thunderbird is very good. Its only bad thing is lack of exchange support.

'Claws Mail' is also getting popular these days because its very light weight.
