I want to make bootable copy of my legal windows XP cd. I googled how to do that. Someone suggested that i should make a .iso image of the cd first, then burn the image file to a disk. I tried that. But the cd was not booting. Pls don't say i am not creating the .iso file properly or not burning the image properly. I am very familiar with the process. I also tried nero 6 to create bootable disk. But it's telling me to insert bootable floppy disk. Where in the world can i get floppy disk nowadays. I also tried a utility called windows bootable image creator. It created the .iso file. But when i burned that image, the cd boots, but i get "could not find BOOT MGR" error. While creating the .iso image, i did it with the original cd in the cd drive. How do i make bootable copy of win XP. I paid a small fortune for that original cd. I am afraid losing it or getting damaged.

you may't reproduction a bootable CD. In such case all seen information and folders will be copied although the the boot counsel isn't copied. you should use courses like UltraISO to backup a bootable CD on your demanding disk as an ISO format image.

You don't need to do anything more than copy the disk. There is no need to create an ISO. You might also consider turning down the burn speed for accuracy.
