What codec should i download?

Question

Every time i try downloading video clips or movies from Limewire (hate it) it say's "Windows Media Player does not support this file because the proper codec is not installed on your computer".

I have the latest version of Windows Media player THAT SAYS it has the latest codecs and all (WMP 11)

But...
I tried downloading different codecs. But each only worked for one or the other: Worked ONLY for Audio, or worked ONLY for the AV (picture).

What codec can i download that can support Windows Media Player and has support for BOTH Audio and the picture???

(no scams or jokes, please...)

Forget about all those codecs etc.

Why do it difficult, when you can do it the easy way

Install Gomplayer, go to preferences - others - select all

File Types - Codec.

Now you should be able to play all your video clips. with sound and picture.

I bet you 10 points that it works

100% Honesty. Go download VLC Media Player. I'm watching Lord of War on it right now. ^_^ It has every single codec available encoded.

One codec that has always helped me out is FFDShow. It's free to download. Just run a Google search for it, and it'll come up.

Google klite codec pack and install it..no problems.



I suggest to chose the filehippo result in the search

You probably need the DivX video codecs.
