Question:
table headings scrolling down on excel and word?

i regularly use tables on both word and excel but find that once you've got so far down the page the headings are no longer visible and hence it is difficult to continue to fill the table without scrolling back and forward. Is it possible for the table headings to remain at the top of the screen whilst i scroll down as i'm sure ive seen this done. If so how, for both excel and word. Thanks!

In both Word and Excel you can split the window into two panes which have their own scrollbars. This means you can keep the top pane showing the header, and move the bottom pane up and down.

At the very top of the scrollbar you will see a narrow bar. Move the mouse over it, and drag it down. When you no longer need it, just double click on it.

Excel also has a horizontal bar, which allows you to split the window into four independent panes. I don't think Word has this bar.

In Office 2007 for Excel you select the top left of your table and select the View ribbon and click on Freeze Panes. The drop down explains how you use it.

For Word go to it's View ribbon and click on Split, it will then split the page in two where you click and you'll be able to scoll the lower text while the upper text remains.

Similar features have existed in legacy versions of Excel and Word.

In word select the row as Heading, right click on highlighted row then go to Table Properties... in Row section, just check on the box "Repeat as header row at the top of each page".

No, even while human beings yawn i do no longer. i like to play a interest with my acquaintances the place somebody will yawn and we observed who yawns first. I in no way usually win till i'm ill with a chilly because of the fact i'm getting so drained this is as though I stayed up an entire week with a wink of sleep.
