Okay, I'll say this to you just like I say to thousands of other people:
LIMEWIRE doesn't give you viruses.
YOU give YOURSELF viruses.
Limewire is not a program that just downloads any file you want without any problems. It is becoming very prone to viruses, which I do agree with. However, you don't have to get these viruses. If you download a music file for a band you like, make sure its size is relative to that of any other average length song. So don't go clicking every file that says the song title in it (watch out for files that are less than 300kb and have 50+ hosts. These can turn out to be viruses.) No song out on the market is less than 300kb (unless it's very short. If this is the case, hover your cursor over the filename and wait for additional information to appear next to the cursor. Look for the track length and any other information about the song.) Sifting through the files is just as hard as waiting for your results to show up or waiting for your file to download. It's a basic skill that you must have while operating Limewire nowadays.
So remember:
1) Don't download files that are less than 300 kb (a common value is 119.0 kb. Those are viruses most of the time.)
2) Don't download these small files if they are hosted by multitudes of people. (Look for track info, like length and any other info)
3) When scanning the extra information, don't download files that just have "Not related: *search query*" in the inforamtion bubble. These are normally bad.
Download at your own risk, but remember, Limewire is not a virus magnet. It is you that is responsible for downloading clean files.
