I want to know what I can't do on the 64 bit version, I heard about driver problems with hardware. Is there also an xp compatibility option on the 64 bit vista that makes programs recognize it as xp 32 bit. I got the 64 bit version so I can use all 4gb of memory and I may get 4 more since memory is so cheap nowadays.

All that I really know about the difference of those two versions are the the 32-bit version is probably the best when it comes to compatability with drivers and programs. The 64-bit version is a little bit better, graphics wise, and is meant for today's higher-end CPU's. That is true though your are making your RAM more of use with the 64-bit version than the 32-bit. But overall I think that there is nothing to worry about the 64-bit version in my opinion.

Well, the 64-bit extensions on Windows are pretty tacked on, so you might not get the performance out of memory beyond 4GB that you want. Although, so are the 32-bit extensions and 16-bit extensions. Driver problems are apparently pretty big, though I expect it will get better over time. If you really need all that memory, 64-bit seems like a decent option, though stick to 32-bit if you can.

So far I have no problems on 64 bit other than it was a pain in the butt to find a complete internet security suite.I finally found a really good one "trend Micro" and now I am enjoying my computer in a speed that it was build for!
