The Arduino company develops their own PCB's and their own software to program them. You can see their various PCB's and download their programming client (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux) at www.Arduino.cc. The Arduino language is C/C++ based. You can also program the Arduino using a visual C++ program by National Instruments called LabVIEW.

The flagship Arduino board is the 'Uno.' It has 12 digital input/output pins, and 6 analog input pins. These pins can be used to control motors and LCD screens, amongst reading nearly every type of sensor from accelerometers and gyroscopes to touch sensors, proximity sensors, and thermocouples. Check out www.sparkfun.com for nearly-limitless options of controllers and sensors that work with Arduinos.

I think arduino software is a software company, focused on real objects technology. They sell ackaged products but also develop customized solutions for special clients who so wish. They also provide consulting and mentoring in software development with object technology and provide high quality hosting.

Check out Arduino.cc. All arduinos have their own default programs.
