I have been copying and pasting to a particular file in Microsoft Works for a very long time with information I want to keep under one file. I now get the message "the information you copied exceeds the size limit for pasting into the word processor. Try reducing the size of your selection and copy and paste again." I cannot reduce the size any further.

Try using Paste Special:

1. Click the Edit->Paste Special menu item.

2. Select Unformatted Text in the As list box.

3. Click OK.

Hope that helps.

These problems may occur if the following conditions are true:

An HTML document stores Rich Text Format (RTF) images in table cells to keep the spacing correct, and all Works Word Processor documents are automatically converted to RTF files. This conversion process can create many table cells. This may require lots of time to transfer into a Works Word Processor document. To protect your computer, the Works Word Processor automatically stops the data transfer after a specified time period.

You are using Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 as the Web browser.

Could it be that you've exceeded your "Works" file size limitation? You might have to start a new "Works" file. I hope your hard drive is not full, that would deliver a similar response also. It could also be that your overloading the clipboard. You might have to break up the file into 2 or more pieces to copy & paste. I'm sure the clipboard does have a size limit, though I've never exceeded it.

Just try breaking the open file into smaller sections if possible. A movie, of coarse, can't be done that way, you would need an alternate method of moving the file. You haven't said anything about file compression either, did you try compressing it? If you have an RAR converter, that's like pushing a suitcase into a Pepsi can.

Good Luck, I hope I have been helpful :-)
