FL Studio 9: Why can't I hear sound while I record?

Okay, so. I'm using the demo version of FL Studio 9 so I can decide if I want to buy the full version or not. I make a basic drum track for the background and I play it and I can hear it just fine. I plug in my guitar, microphone, whatever, and press record audio into edison. It tells me I need to switch my output to ASIO. So, I switch my output to ASIO and it lets me record.
The thing is, I can only have 1 output at a time, so I can't make the output ASIO /and/ my speakers at the same time, so I can't hear anything while I'm recording. How can I fix this?

You shouldn't have the output as an input, what kind of ASIO are you using?

The way I record is through the mixer. Works fine, I use headphones to hear the track playback and record additional sounds (mic/guitar) plugged into the input of my soundcard. It then records to a .wav file. Feel free to contact me if you have detailed info & questions.

In case you end up buying FL Studio, here's a link for 10% discount on your purhcase https://support.image-line.com/jshop/shop.php?offer=Default&promo=BACJBAA468

Make sure to get the Producer Edition or Signature Bundle if you need audio recording, the cheaper versions don't include ASIO in recording or Edison.

Many things could lead to distorted sound. Everything from overdriving the initial amplification, to a blown speaker. Set your volume low and listen again. If it sounds ok, you have a setting problem. Without knowing what system you're using, it's impossible to tell you how to set it. If you still hear a pop and a fuzz, then you need to look at your speakers.
