Simple as can be:
1. Be sure you have KDE installed.
yum installgroup 'KDE Software Compilation'
2. Logout.
3. Before you login again, look at the bottom of the screen and find the menu item that lets you pick your desktop for this new session. Your choices should be Gnome, KDE, plus whatever other DTE you may have installed.
4. Enjoy.

How to Install KDE 4.7 In Fedora 15 GNOME (should work on Fedora 16)
There's probably some funky GUI tool that lets you choose which X-windows manager to use, but the old school method is to look in your home directory for .xstart (or was it .xconfig?) Anyways, look in there, and you'll see it calling gnome. Switch the call to kde, and you're all set.
(this assumes you've already installed KDE of course...)

i like KDE, a minimum of on my extra useful desktops. On older boxes, I particularly tend to choose JWM extra. i do no longer recommendations KDE 4 too lots, yet some KDE 4 apps are the two broken (Ark), grotesque (Amarok), or do no longer even exist yet, while they actually ought to (K3b).
