Here is a simple one, which highlights all numbers over 10.
In a column insert some random numbers, including numbers under & over 10. Select the whole column (by clicking in the column header). On the menu go to Format->Conditional Formatting. Condition 1: cell value is ... greater than ... 10. now click the Format button, and choose a different font color - say, red. OK.
Your numbers over 10 will now be in red.

Andrew's answer above is correct but I would like to add something to it, conditional formatting works for numbers or words, it's basically a simple format that says if you meet specific conditions like if you see the word yes turn it to what ever format you specify, like you can choose to turn it a colour or to bold it or changes it's font.
Depending on your version of excel you have limitations, the older versions only allow up to 3 conditional formats but newer versions allow more.
After you have done your conditional formatting of something that same feature can be used to find cells that are formatted to those parameters.

o.k...first open ms excel. type the content. (numbers have to be used) for example for marks-
Simmi 55
hitler 77
tanzing 98
joker 33
Davin 22
then, go to 'format' toolbar. there wil be many options select 'conditional formatting' then, a dialogue box will appear. then you can choose appropriate settings. then there would be 'format' tab then choose appropriate format settings in the 'format cells' dialogue box that will also appear. then click on 'O.K'. NOTE- you can give only 3 conditional formatting commands. for adding the other 2 commands, click on 'ADD'.....hope you found this useful.....

If I have been given you nicely, you are going to be able to choose some VBA activity, I did this right here for somebody in Yahoo! solutions. What you pick is to set Conditional formatting for all different cells into formula is and =$A$a million=14 and paste for all different cells XLMan
