A program that opens up as fast as MS Paint and doesn't have too many functions like PhotoShop?

I need a program that opens up as fast as MS Paint (almost instantly) and doesn't have shitloads of functions like PhotoShop - I just need something simple for cropping, resizing, adding text w/o any fx.
I have the Gimp, but it takes 10 minutes to "search for fonts" in the splash screen.

Your computer must be slow. GIMP opens in 15 seconds for me! And that is on an old laptop. Obviously if you have installed new fonts, it will need to rescan your fonts directory which can take a while.



If you want something simple, I can recommend Paint.NET, Google Picasa 3, Photoscape or Photofiltre. In fact, you can get them all, because they are free!!!!!!!!!!!

There is an old Microsoft program called PhotoEd or PhotoEditor that came with early editions of MS Office ('97).



If you search on the web you can find it and download it. It's less that a megabite in size.



I have it and it works OK on Windows Vista and Windows 7 x64 bit.



I use it in conjunction with MS Picture Manager

Clean up ur startup programs. Defrag the machine regularly..

IrfanView. It's blazing fast, tiny, opens anything. you can crop, resize, etc.



And it's free. :)
