Can I get my Deleted files back?

Question

I moved out of state after graduation in 2008 for college. I come back home and find out that my computer that had ALL my memories from when I was a kid have been DELETED/ERASED!!! It had to do with downloading some music "limewire" which I heard is bad to use if no protection on computer. I need to know if it is possible to get my files back, PLEASE HELP ME!! it makes me sad thinking all my memories are gone. Thank you for ur help...

Limewire has been taken to court and shut down for good, so no gain there. All your memories look in the trash or try to do a system restore. From now on back up your computer!!!

When a file is deleted from your computer it is not really deleted. It is simply removed from the directory of files in the folder. Even though you can no longer see the file in the folder, its contents still exist 100% intact at this point.

Open your recycle bin and check if the files are in there. If you don't find them in there, I don't know what else to do. Sorry :(

google for recovery programs, see if you can put it on a usb stick.
