So, these bold-faced dotted lines keep appearing on various pages of my document. They extend the entire page-length, and I am unable to highlight, delete, or erase them. I've tried to copy the text (stopping just before the dotted lines) and paste them over to a new document, but the lines show up regardless. What are they and how do I remove them?

On the File menu, click Open, and then navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates.

If no templates are listed in the Open dialog box, click the arrow next to the Files of type box, and then click Document Templates.

Delete the Normal.dot file and close Word. It will be re-created with original default settings next time you open Word.
