Question:
What is the best way to copy music from a CD?

(Don't worry; it is music my Dad produced.)
A friend of my Dad's asked me to do this for her (she actually said to burn a copy for her), and I have no idea how.
Please give me the safest and best way to do this. Thank you very much.

I dont think there is an unsafe way to burn....

2 steps

A Copy Music to your computer (Ripping) [ you can skip this if the music is already on a computer]

B Copy that music onto a new CD( Burning)

A1 Put your dads music CD in your computer

A2 In media player at the to top there should be a button that says 'Rip'

A3 A new panel on the right should open asking your to rip this music, say rip

Now the music is copied to a location in your computer, its time to burn

B1 Open media player and find your dads Album

B2 From the top again hit the 'Burn' button

B3 All of the songs on your dads album should automatically have a check at their left side

B4 Hit the Burn button on the right lower side of the screen(make sure you have a new blank CD in our CD Drive

and media player should start burning and your CD should Pop out once its done,

I use a free program called CDex to rip and Windows Media player to burn. You may be able to do both in windows (I just coudln't figure out how). You just put the disk in the drive and pull up CDex. It's show all the tracks and then you check the path to make sure it's burning them to where you want on your PC. And it the 1st (wav) or 2nd (mp3) Icon on the right. Wav is better quality but bigger. Mp3 is smaller.

Tehn once I've burned them I drag them into Windows media playlist and hit the "burn playlist".

option.

Good luck!

Do u want to copy the content (music) in the CD to the system? if so, all u need to do is install any audio software ( Eg : Real player,Winamp or Windows media player)and copy the content from CD to system and play.

if u want to make a copy of ur CD (i.e copy the content to another CD) then u need to install any ACD/DVD Writer software in ur system and this software will help u to Write( or burn) the content into another CD.

What I would do is download burnatonce, it's a progam that will make an image of the disk, this means you can't use it by conventional means (a.k.a. WMP, or iTunes). But it will allow you to make an exact copy of the disk by telling it to burn the image to a cd. Some protections will out muscle the program but it's the best free one I know of.

If you want it to go onto another cd, put it into your computer, and find a link, in your media player for burning it. Or use a cd formatting.copying program. I once had one. But it wasn't as simple as it should've been. Other wise buy a cd recorder. Better yet, put the cd into your stereo and record it onto a tape. Another option, is play the cd, and record it with a digital recorder

If you have two drives then it's easiest to make a copy of the entire CD with whatever you have installed to burn CDs (roxio, etc.).

If not then you have to load the CD onto your hard drive and then burn it.

I think it is easiest to use Windows Media Player. Here is a good resource from Microsoft on how to do everything you need to do. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/howto/mp11/default.mspx#EZ

if you dont already have it download "windiws media player". after its downloaded put the disk you want to copy into your cd tray, click on "rip". it'll put the music on your computer in a library. after the rippings done, take the cd out of the tray.

then put a blank cd into the tray and click on "burn". it should put the music on the blank cd. dont mess with it, it'll let you know when its complete. hope this helps, good luck.
