Question:
Does anyone know of a free pdf ebook for INTERMEDIATE Linux users?

I know quite a few things in Linux but would like to know more and given that I am not Linux illiterate, it would be nice if I can have a pdf ebook that is not assuming I know too much but is actually telling me something that I don't already know. For instance, I'd like more specific details on creating .deb files without using any "cheap ways" such as checkinstall.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Each flavor of Linux has it's own rules. Debian and RedHat are both "Linux" but have different package managers and policies. Ubuntu is popular, but it is it's own animal. That is the strength and weakness of Linux - flexible, but not uniform.

There is a deb/rpm package translator. In theory you can make one type of package and then translate it to the other.

http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/ you could email the author here and ask if he has a text/pdf form of his guide available for download.

You can always visit the Linux Documentation Project website.

They document practically everything you need to know about Linux
