Hello,
My boyfriend has a dell desktop PC running 2007 Windows XP Pro SP3 that at this moment can't connect to internet due to accidentally breaking his USB WiFi last night and there is a program download that e needs/wants to install like now, And I have a Macbook Mac OS X version 10.6.7 and so I want to know if it's possible to, and if so, how, to download a windows .exe format program with my Mac, than put the download onto a flash drive and give it to my boyfriend to install onto his PC?
Because, I actually did this and when my Bf clicks on it a small window pops up with the following information : written across the top, as header or title is: " MediaGet downloader" and under it in the main window at the upper left corner is a big red dot with a white X in it and the following message beside it : " Unable to launch MediaGet installer SE_ERR_SHARE and a button below it with"Okay" written on it . So, is there anybody reading this that knows what the problem is, and if and if so, how or what I need to do to resolve this and make it work or might it just be better (definitely better And easier for me !) if he just wait until tomorrow or Monday, when he gets a new Wi Fi thingee an can just do it himself the right way?
Thank you,
Carrie M.

It is a Web-based installer. It cannot run the installer because it connects to the MediaGet server for the installation. But don't worry about that anyway. The MediaGet app is designed for GettingMedia. Get it? It is an app that helps find online music files. He can't use it now. Just tell him to cool his heels until he gets another one of those break-away USB things... unless his USB port is also damaged.

Have you tried zipping the file, or placing it in a folder and zipping that before putting it onto the flash drive?

Extracting it on the windows machine shouldn't be a problem, it seems you have problems when its just the .exe.

i'm arranged to wager that those "white icons" are DMG archives; the icons are a white sheet of paper with a complicated rigidity on it. a million. the completed reason that subject concerns have been given screwed as much as commence up with is likely via actuality your disk permissions are incorrect. Open spotlight (Cmd-area) and seek for for "Disk application" and open it together because it pops up. decide on your complicated rigidity and pass to the "First help" tab (it is going to be chosen by default). Now click the button that proclaims "restoration Disk Permissions." you would be led to on your password, and then it is going to restoration each little element for you. It shouldn't take better powerful than a couple of minutes. 2. in case you're besides the incontrovertible fact that having subject concerns, actual-click/administration-click the document and choose "Get advice." pass to the backside of the window that pops up the placement it says "Open with:" (you would be waiting to might desire to click on the arrow to expand it). Then click on the drop-down menu and choose "DiskImageMounter.app". If DiskImageMounter.app isn't indoors the record, decide on "distinctive…" and stumble on it by typing "DiskImageMounter" indoors the quest field and prepared for it to pop up. as immediately as you have it chosen, press the "replace All…" button and press "ok" on the on the spot. close the window; all DMG archives will now behave exact.
