Question:
URGENT QUESTIONS ABOUT Blu-ray AND KMPlayer?

I have a few questions. I just started using KMPlayer. I'm configuring it in PREFERENCES and wanna know a few things.

>>> I WANT THE BEST SETTINGS FOR THE HIGHEST QUALITY PLAYBACK, INCLUDING Blu-ray <<<

1) Will selecting all "Internal Video Decoders" allow me to playback all of them?
2) What is better for "External Video Decoders"? Is Gabest MPEG Decoder (MPEG2 Dec Filter) better? or is it MPEG Video Decoder (DirectX)?
3) Will selecting all "Internal Audio Decoders" allow me to playback all of them?
4) In "Internal Audio Decoder" OUTPUT Tab, what is the best choice? PCM Output 24-bit (my sound card is 24-bit Creative Audigy 2), or LPCM output?
5) In "External Audio Decoder", what's the best choice? Is it Gabest Audio Decoder?
6) In "Video Processing", what is the best video renderer? VMR9 Renderless (HQ Subtitles) is default.
7) In "Input Colorspaces", Can I select all supported ones?
8) In "Deinterlacing", what is the best DEINTERLACING METHOD?
9) In "Sharpen", what is best Video Sharpening Method?
10) In "Blur/Levels", will selecting Full Range show MORE of BETTER colors?
11) In "Audio Processing", what is the BEST Transform Filter? KMP Copy Audio Transform Filter or KMP Inplace Audio Transform Filter?
12) In "Basic Audio Filters", will selecting 3D Sound make it better? Or will it distort it?
13) In "Crystality/Noise Reduction", will enabling it be better? Does ir reduce background noise of what?
14) In "Equalizer", which is best? Is it Freq-Domain Equalizer?

P.S. Also, how can I make KMPlayer KEEP Aspect Ratio of video when NOT in Fullscreen Mode?

1) Yes

2) MPEG Video Decoder (DirectX)

3) Yes it will playback all of them

4) LPCM output best choice

5) For me Gabest Audio Decoder is the best I have for an External Audio Decoder, why not try it.

6) VMR9 Renderless this is what I most use in video processing.

7) Sure!

8)

1) Blend, average, combine fields. Both fields are overlaid together. This gives you good results, when there's no movement, but results in unnatural low quality movements. There seem to be a ghosty unsharpness when something moves.

2) Discard. You discard every second line (the movie is half the height then) and then resize the picture during play. That is the same as skipping Field2, Field4, Field6... You could call this "Even Fields Only" or "Odd Fields Only". You lose half of the resolution and the movie becomes kind of stuttering (as mentioned above). That means, that it doesn't play as fluidly as it could be.

3) Bob (Progressive Scan). Displaying every field (so you don't lose any information), one after the other (= without interlacing) but with 50 fps. Thus each interlaced frame is split into 2 SMALL frames (= the 2 former fields) half the height.

4) THE BEST METHOD: Bob (Progressive scan) + Intelligent Adaptive Hybrid.

Analyzing the two fields and deinterlace only parts which need to. It gives you a 50fps movie instead of a 25fps movie, thus leaving you with perfect fluidity of motions. High temporal and vertical resolution (NORMAL frames).

9) I always do editing in sharpening my video and reconfigure it if necessary.

10) better colors will do

11) KMP Copy Audio Transform Filter is the best transformation

12) No! that will not distort it. It will be better to hear if you make it 3D.

13) NO no it will never reduce background noise. It will remain constant to what is the original noise.

14) Yeah

It will automatically keep the ratio when it is not in fullscreen

Kmplayer Blu Ray

Well, there are a few answers, capacity wise Blu-ray's rank over HD DVD on the scale would be around 5-6. Current hardware -0 In the future- 3 Sales and studio support wise: 10 Exclusive support of Warner Bros, New Line, Disney (Walt Disney, Pixar, Touchstone, Hollywood, Miramax), Sony (Columbia, Columbia Tristar, ScreenGems), Fox (including 20th Centuary Fox, Fox Searchlight), MGM, Lionsgate - all exclusive to Blu-ray. Current 75% software share for all of 2008 currently. 2 to 1 software sales last year. Interactivity (currently, taking into mind most Profile 1 players can't upgrade to 1.1 and 2) : -2 Most players aren't PIP compatible, profile 2 players aren't even around. Audio (most standalone players): -2 Why? On Blu-ray standalone players not all lossless audio codecs are manadotory, so some streams will play downgraded like DTS HD, where HD DVD, it's mandotory. Video: 4-5 Higher Bitrates. Blu-ray is better in terms of support and likeness of winning the format war, that is the only thing you should care about, as HD DVD audio/visual and interactivity wise, is around the same as Blu-ray.
