I have the "program is too big to fit into program" virus or something. and I've been trying to figure out what the virus is by looking over my task manager processes.

I saw many svchost.exe running but I noticed one svchast.exe

the two names are so similar I feel like the svchast is the virus trying to make it's name seem like svchost. but I am not sure so I don't know if I should delete it..

You're right, svchast.exe is a virus. Many viruses like to disguise themselves by taking names that are similar to normal Windows processes. In some bad cases, they might even have names identical to normal processes, so check for duplicate files in the task manager and check where they're running from.

svchost.exe is a normal process and there are usually a lot of them, but sometimes one of them might be a virus, so again, check the origin path that the file is running from. svchosts all have a variety of different functions, details on the process can be found here http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/what-is-svchostexe-and-why-is-it-running/

You should probably download an anti-virus program, because even if you manage to delete svchast.exe, it might revive itself under a different name, and there are probably other viruses on the computer as well.

svchast.exe is labeled as dangerous, however it is a symptom of the problem not the problem itself

Download a program called Malwarebytes to clear the virus - its free and works really well

That will solve the problem
