I want to uninstall a program completely off my macbook pro. But, I already moved it to the trash and emptied the trash. I can't seem to find it on my computer now, but I don't know for sure if it is gone. Did I get rid of it? Or is it still hiding there? And if it is still on my computer somewhere, how do I find it and remove it? Thank you

No data is actually removed from your hard drive by emptying the Trash, it is marked as space available for data to be written to (Empty Trash) unless you choose Secure Empty Trash when the data is overwritten with random information. Depending on what option you choose determines the difficulty of retrieving deleted data.

In the case of your app, it will no longer be available to use to the average user although it could be retrieved by someone with the appropriate equipment and knowledge.

Another thing to consider is that though you've deleted the actual app, there are probably remnants of it all over your hard drive, eg preference files and other system files. You could try something like Spring Cleaning to find and remove these redundant files.
