Question:
Strange audio problem please help?
2009-05-12 02:02:57 UTC
I have a hp pavilion dv4 laptop with windows vista ultimate installed. Just recently my sound has been automatically changing up and down. I am not sure what has caused it but i have reinstalled my audio codec driver (idt high definition audio codec) but that hasn't fixed it. It is really annoying because i can't watch movies and listen to music. It is like someone is constantly pressing up and down on the volume control (i am sure it is not someone hacking into my because it still happens when i disable the network adapters.

i would really appreciate your help, feel free to ask any questions.

thanks in advance from daniel

i dont know if this will help, but in vista, go to sound settings in control panel (i can't show u the steps cz i am using an XP right now). There's an option that automatically adjust the sound volume in your PC, so loud sounds will be lower and low sounds will be louder.

MAYBE this option is turned on, but u have to search for it in some advanced tabs in sound settings...
