All you need to do is create a partition on your hard drive. One will be your primary (main os) then a secondary for the other OS.

Windows has a built in tool for doing this, but I prefer to use Easus partition manager.

There are 2 techniques of doing this.. option a million a million) once you format the HDD keep some unformatted area for use for Linux 2) deploy abode windows XP in the formatted area 3) deploy Linux (I even have finished this with RedHat) via booting up with the setting up CD and configure it to apply diverse application (Its somewhat uncomplicated in case you could heavily study!) as quickly as finished you have 2 OS on your pc. The sytem will commence with Linux and supply you 2 suggestions to chosen OS. the downside is which you will could desire to reboot in case you're able to be able to desire to alter. Option2 a million) deploy abode windows XP 2) deploy VMWare computer 3) deploy Linux interior VMWare you could change between abode windows and Linux devoid of restarting. there will be much less conflicts between the OS as in the 1st case. the downside is which you're able to desire good processing potential, HDD area and an somewhat severe reminiscence to get optimal overall performance. good success!

You can run multiple operating systems on a PC or laptop. But you must have them on separate partitions or run Linux in virtual mode (VM). With two operating systems on two separate partitions, you will get a prompt at startup to allow you to chose which OS you want to run. A VM system will boot into Windows7 and then allow you to later switch "on-the-fly" to Linux and back to 7 without rebooting. Do a Google search for details on how to do either.
