I bought a song on iTunes that I wanted. Now my brother wants the same song, but it doesn't work on his mp3 player because his Sony Walkman only plays WMA files.
So how can I convert MPEG to WMA files

First, your brother gets my condolence that he's stuck with a player that can't play MP3 or MPEG4 audio files, as those are two of the most popular formats that are out there. Now onto the fun part...

If the song bought from iTunes is purchased MP4 audio and not protected MP4 audio, you can use iTunes to convert the song from MP4 to MP3 format; you'll just need to make sure that the Import Settings for iTunes is set to MP3 output and not any of the other formats. (You can also use WAV format for this step, but I don't like huge files to deal with.)

If it's a protected MP4 audio file, you'll need to burn it to disc. I'd recommend a CD-RW if you have one, as you won't be wasting a CD for a single song.

Add the MP3 to your Windows Media Player library, or rip the CD in WMA format to Windows Media Player.. When your brother syncs his Walkman (it's hard for me to say that, as I was a kid when the Walkman was a tape player and not a CD player or MP3 player), Windows Media Player will automatically convert it to WMA for the player. Or at least it should. If not, you should be able to use sound recorder to save MP3s in WMA format, but that's your worst case scenario.

To rip a song or episode from a movie, Audio out of Video Converter is your best choice. With it, you can easily get WMA from MPEG videos.

The Sony will play the mp3. I think your problem might be the copyright protection that itunes puts on purchased music. I rip all my music from cd's but have read things about this on this site. I think you need to google something like removing DRM protection. I believe once that is removed you can share the music. Please do not hold me to anything I have said because I have no first hand experience with this. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
