If you've been using IE for a long time, and it suites you, there is no reason to change browsers. That said, Firefox is a lot more user friendly and makes for a more interactive internet experience. It has many features that makes even the newest version of Explorer years behind. It's worth checking it out- if you don't like it you can always delete it. This link has some of the add-ons you can use with Firefox. I recommend Stumble Upon. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

Both are remarkably powerful browsers.

Firefox is more standards compliant (though Opera is probably the most standards compliant). IE is one of the least (Internet) standards compliant popular browsers.

IE gives more access to your local computer to incoming HTML/Javascript. This makes your PC more vulnerable if IE is your default browser.

I use Firefox unless a web site only supports IE. Also, Firefox has an add-on called IE tab which runs the IE rendering engine in a Firefox tab. That usually works pretty well.

IE did not support tabs until IE7. Firefox supported tabs before 1.5, if I remember correctly. [IE is trying to catch up to Firefox functionality.]

Firefox has hundreds of add-ons so that you can pretty much make is do what you want it to.

IE appears to have a smaller memory foot print than Firefox, but that's because alot of IE functionality is hidden in Windows .dll (dynamic load libraries) and therefore not counted against IE. So, it's not a fair test.

well id say for a ... basic user, u should use internet explorer.

sometimes the webpage diplays differently in firefox than it does it explorer. because webdesigners design there pages for explorer and not firefox. and I THINK they read html differently.

id say firefox is alot more fun to use than explorer is. it has allll sorts of extentions, and it has themes too. u can even make it look exacly like explorer does haha

try "opera" as a browser.. its also pretty fun, and the themes are cool. the crapy thing about it is that it doesnt have the basic autocomplete. so i just use firefox instead haha

u should try all browsers for yourself instead of asking on others oppinions, so u can gather your own opinions on things

Firefox is definitely better, Firefox is less prone to security breaches, and has a more efficient pop-up blocker than Internet Explorer

Firefox is an automatic win against IE! Download it! Don't hesitate.

It has tons of excellent features and comes with a pop-up blocker.

Rise up the speed of your Firefox Browser:

Open the configuration menu by typing in the following into the field where you normally fill in the URLs:

About:config

In the config menu you have to set up the following changes:

- network.http.proxy.pipelining (put “true”)

- network.http.pipelining.maxrequests put on 100

- network.http.max-connections-per-server 16

- network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy 8

- network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server 4

You save the changes by clicking the right button of your mouse somewhere on the screen and choose new -> integer from the menu. Now you have to write nglayout.initialpaint.delay into the popup and type in number 0 into the next window.
