I want to install an app but I don't want the app to be un-installed when the phone is being used.

There's an app for android called "AppLock". Find, download and install it, so you can set password for every activity and each app, and of course prevent uninstalling, too.

I have an HTC as well. You must be careful in scrolling through the tools section that you do not accidentally get your finger tip on the app that you do not want to uninstall. This happens to me all the time if I am not careful. When scrolling, finger accidentally puts a tick mark on some app, and if you do not notice it, you might delete or disable it. The new phones are a pain. When scrolling through phone contacts it is so easy to accidentally phone someone you did not intend to. When this happens in the late evening you are as unpopular as a skunk in the basement.
