Windows Movie Maker doesn't support all formats. If it is a .mp4 or a .MOV windows movie maker won't be able to open it. Try to converting it to .wmv or .avi. Also, Movie Maker doesn't open illegal videos such as ones downloaded off of Youtube.

i've got not got a MAC yet maximum probable the format of your video is in a format that homestead windows action picture Maker does not settle for. with a bit of luck your video isn't too huge and you will convert it employing a unfastened converter and it won't take yet a couple of minutes. then you rather can import your switched over video into action picture Maker. there may well be a average decrease high quality of your video after changing gazing the format you pick. The prevalent video formats for WMM are: .asf, .wm, .wma, .wmv, MPEG1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2 . stable success!

You don't need to have a toolbar - Movie Maker should support all formats (or most) of Microsoft videos, such as WMV or AVI. Try both of these or look up a list of Microsoft video file formats.
