Without minimizing what you wanna capture then then hit the Print Screen key, the full screenshot will be sent the PAm automatically, then open the MS Paint, press CTRL+V and save it. If u press ALT+Pr Scrn button at the same time, u will get the active window...

If u work with Windows Vista, there is a free screen capture tool called ‘Snipping Tool’. This tool could help you capture any part of the screen by using a selection rectangle. But this program is strictly Windows Vista.

But, if u wanna capture anything on the screen, try a free capture program, just find a totally free one on via google or yahoo. hope it could help u!

i recommend PCHand Screen Capture which im using now. It could capture anything on the screen with flexible capturing profiles and edit the screenshots with the powerful build-in editor. and it directly save as bmp/jpg/gif/png/tif files and output word/PowerPoint/clipboard/email ect. it also provides a free trial version. U could try it.http://www.screen-capture-record.com/screen-capture.html

why do you think print screen does not work? Are you aware that after you have hit print screen, you must paste it somewhere? Like into a new .jpg file, or into a word document, whatever.

If you were already aware of that but it's still not working, perhaps your print screen doubles as something else, maybe you have to use your function key to change it back to print screen?

And also as a side note, did you know if you hold down the alt key while pressing print screen, you will only capture the active screen, rather than everything.

P.S. snagit is another piece of software that will do this.

If you don't have GiMP, get it. (It's a free photoshop-type program you can download online.) After you go through all that, open it up and you'll see under 'files' (I think) there is a subheading for 'acquire. . .' and you'll see appended onto that something that says 'screen capture.'

You can choose to capture either a single window, or the the whole screen. Select a few seconds for delay, to give you enough time to minimize the Gimp window, and Voila!

And GiMP's fun to use, anyhow.

The main advantage of this software is that you can select the the appropriate regions of your interest to cut, you can highlight the part of the image, you can take moving clips also as well as sequential snaps. This software is free for use for 10 days which can be extended up to 30 days by requesting serial key from ashampoo. Go to www.ashampoo.com to download it for free.
