i was gonna go to gpedit for something but when i typed it in on run it said "gpedit.msc not found"did they take it off win 8 or do you access it differently? plz help

Group Policy only exists on Windows Professional or above, for networking, so you won't have it on, so if it's Win 8 Home Edition you won't have it. I believe it's on Win 8 Enterprise if that's what it's called.

Although Microsoft did not include Policy Editor in home edition some people have installed it through other means, check out this article. It was used primarily for Windows 7 Non Pro Versions but it would seem it also works on Windows 8. Understand that Local Group Policy Editor can be used on a stand-alone computer without the need for a Domain. Typical use would be on a PC with multiple User Accounts, there would be one Administrator Account for managing such policy and then everyone else.
