Will you be upgrading your Windows version to Vista, or switching to Linux on your current machine? Now that Linux has improved greatly over the last few years, do you believe that you will be upgrading to Windows Vista, or switching over to Linux?

Neither. Vista is a resource hog. Linux... I already have a Linux server. Works great, runs Apache, MySQL, and Samba. But I also use a whole bunch of programs that either don't have Linux versions or they have to be bought in addition to Windows versions. To summarize, change is expensive and should be avoided. Rather than spend time and money on OS upgrade, I'd consider upgrading the hardware (more memory or a new hard drive).

I've been using Linux for quite some time and recently switched entirely over due to my dissatisfaction with XP, but depending on what you are planning to do depends on whether or not Linux or Vista is a good option for you.
I'd need to know a lot more information to give you a correct answer on this point. For example, what do you use your computer for, which software do you have to use, are you willing to learn something new and put some time into doing it.

I spent the last one year dual booting my machine (winxp - fedora core 4)
I need to do that since a couple of applications that I and my wife need for our work related issues are as yet not ported to Linux.
But I am pretty sure that i am not going to switch to Vista.
I am evaluating Ubuntu and FC5. I plan to stick to XP since it works for me, but, the day Microsoft desupports it, I might actually move fulltime to linux
