KDE+Debian Linux distro?

Hi. I'm currently on Ubuntu with KDE. but i'm having some performance issues with KDE and some other qt4 based applications. so with the X11 and Mir conflicts coming, I'm looking for a reliable and supported Debian based Linux distro with KDE other than Kubuntu. Linux is my main OS so it has to be very stable has anyone got any suggestions?

Well Debian and Ubuntu both use the .deb extention for software insterlation and they both use the apt-get install to find software. If you want something Debian based, try Linux mint

I suspect that you might not have installed KDE in ubuntu fully and are therefore having problems.It is best to install the full compliment of KDE packages (kubuntu-desktop). See the first link.

You can install debian with the KDE desktop. See the second link.

Kubuntu is the ubuntu distro with KDE as the default desktop. See the third link.

Nearly any debain distro can have the KDE desktop installed as an optional desktop. Simply install the full compliment of KDE packages.

If you want a pure KDE distro, I recommend that you give Chakra Linux a run http://www.chakra-project.org/ .



If it has to be Debian, then go here http://www.debian.org/CD/live/ and download the KDE version.



Mepis would be another good choice http://www.mepis.org/mirrors . I have used mepis before and really liked it.

you can still use a ubuntu based system, if it is the long term support (LTS) release, 12.04.

xfce desktop is more stable than kde, perhaps use xubuntu 12.04. it can be made to look like almost anything.
