First of all you need a bit torrent client (Search engine and downloader.) I suggest using Vuze,. free download, just google it. Use google to find the torrent you are looking for. For instance, type "[Moviename] torrent" into the google search bar, or if you did download Vuze type the movie name into the search bar at the top of the Vuze Client. Choose the torrent site you wish to download from. Most will show a list of choices of the movie to opt from. On the right hand side of the lsting there will be some numbers with the label 'seeds' and 'peers' click on the movie that has a good number of seeds. However, many times if the number of seeds is some rediculously high number the torrent is a fake. Anyways, Choose the movie file you are interested in and click on the name. That will bring you to the torrent page. Find the comment section for the movie, which will be located toward the bottom of the page. See what the community is saying about the movie. If the community is reporting that the torrent is good then go back to the top of the page where you will find a toggle (Button to click on.) that says something like "Download Torrent file." Click on that and the torrent should download into Vuze. Occasionally the torrent wil not load into Vuze but will instead land on your desktop. If that happens simply click on the vuze client where it says 'downloading' and then drag and drop the torrent file onto the Vuze Client.

If you are worried about viruses then look on the torrent page for a list of files that is included in the torrent. If any of the files that are listed end in .exe you should probably choose another torrent. There is absolutely no reason for a .exe file to be in any torrent. I try not to torrent anything that has no comment section if I can but sometimes you have to take a chance. To WATCH just about any torrent download VLC Media Player which is free and can be found using Google.

1. Find a torrent program that will suit your needs, the most common clients are uTorrent, Deluge, Vuze, BitTorrent, and Opera. There are plenty of other clients available as well.

2.Follow the instructions on downloading and installing your chosen client.

3.Go to a torrent site and search for a file you want to download. The Pirate Bay and Mininova are popular sites.

4.Once you have found the desired file on the torrent site, click the "Download This Torrent" (or however they word it). Usually, the web browser's file download manager will ask what to do with this file. You want to open the file with your torrent program.

5.If it doesn't open that way, just save the .torrent file to an easy to locate place. Then open your torrent client and use the "Open Torrent" feature(Most torrent clients support click & drag).

6.The download will start automatically. You may now go and do something to pass the time, because torrents do not require your attention and will download in the background.

Tips

You can close your torrent program and turn off your computer when you need to. Most torrent programs will resume download process automatically when you start them back up. If the download doesn't resume automatically, there should be an option to start downloading, by either right clicking on the file and choose "Start" or a button somewhere in the program.

There are other torrent clients (programs) that can be used so do your research on these also. The most popular torrent programs are uTorrent, Azureus and BitTorrent. use uTorrent because they port forward for you now, useful if you have a home network,

There are Torrent search engines that search the popular torrent clients (programs). This saves you time by not having to search each individual torrent client site. The most popular torrent search engines are TorrentReactor.net, NowTorrents.com and Qtorrents.com . Those sites are cool but I have had my internet shut down from downloading from nowtorrents. Some of the best and safest sites are Torrentz.com (verified links) and Dungeon-Dragons.com (Invite only now)

When looking for torrent files, try to find ones with plenty of Seeders. When searching for torrents, you can often sort the results by seeds, simply by clicking on the seeds column header.

Seeders (Seeds): Are people who have a complete copy of the torrent's files and are only uploading (sending) data to the people who are downloading (peers). One tip to get people like Warner Brothers and such is seed to a ratio of one or dont seed at all if you can, not saying seeding is bad but it does leave a trail to follow.

Leechers (Peers): Are people who have a portion of the torrent's files while they are downloading they are actively uploading to help others download more quickly.

using the program torrents is legal but it depends on what software you download. I always torrent software and got letters from cablevision saying i have downloaded something illegal (got like 4 letters out of like 2000 things i torrented). Use a program called peer guardian 2 and noone will know if you are torrenting or not so its a safe way.
