How do I change my mouse settings in MS Word?

Does anyone know how to change back my mouse settings in MS Word? I accidently must have changed something so now each time I highlight a word and try to type over it, it inserts a new word rather than replacing it.

Also when I highlight a word and hit backspace instead of deleting the word, it simply places the cursor at the beginning of the word without deleting it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

It looks like you change your options in word:

1.- Open Word

2.- On the menu, point and click on

3.- On the tab:

To Replace selected text as you type: select the check box.

4.- On the tab:

To delete highligthed text with backspace: select the check box.

5.- Click to finish.

And that's all .....
