What is the difference between a download manager & acceleratorr?

Tell me what is the main difference between a download accelerator and a download manager.
I used to use flash get1.9 and now iam using download accelerator plus(DAP),I don't understand the difference between these.
Also tell me which is the best download manager or accelerator.

Internet Download Manager really deserves its' name. At first I couldn't believe it! They said that my download speed would be fastened to 500%. But my actual speed is fastened even to 600%. For me, as adsl internet user, it really was a problem to download something. Since i have got IDMan, everything is easier. There is no difference between them. I have tried DAP and i have Airtel 256 kbps unlmtd Plan

My speed keeps varying-- 32-40 every second. So there is no point using it as the average speed remains 30 which is the speed that i get on normal downloading.

It consumes a lot of CPU Power n thus makes the computer slow even when i have pentium 4 with 512 ram

Many things cannot be downloaded like things from megaupload etc....





The Only benefit u get is that u can resume downloads. But that can be done from many others too like the megamanager.....

Download Manager is a download manager. It manages all the files you download from the internet. It does not fasten your downloads. Its just a download manager.



Download Accelerator is a software that accelerates your downloads. It fastens the download of the files you download from the internet.



Where DAP is concerned its the best. But I have used Download Accelerators for many years and I don't think they are worth. They show that they are downloading with great speed but they are actually not.

Essentially they're the same thing, although the term "download accelerator" can be a bit misleading as you can't speed up your internet connection without getting a faster one. The way download managers work is that they use up multiple connection slots of the server that is hosting the data you're downloading and, in that way, speed up your download.



As for which is the best download manager, I personally use Flashget because it is very simple to use. Likewise, many others I know also have positive experience of Flashget.

download manager will manager the downloading files like pausing and starting from where it was stopped and keeping them in one folder.





So basically both are different it's your choice according to your need.
