Computer problems once again... I got the blue screen on death and now I'm running it on safe mode. To explain when the Blue screen of death occurred, this morning I started up my comp and it gets the OS running and I make it to the log in screen cause I have another account for guests. But while loading, the BSoD would pop up and the system would restart itself. I continued doing this a few several times. Then I pressed F2 before I got into OS (Windows XP MCE) this BIOS screen appeared but it wasnt black and white this one was blue, grey, black and white and it had a whole listing of the Computers model name and product number and even change the settings of which way the computer ran so I changed that. One I did that I finally booted up and made it to my desktop but when I tried to open an application, BSoD again! So I tried booting up again, this time in safe mode with internet connection. And I was able to get into programs but, I think I messed up, I went into My C drive and there were these 4 new files which werent in a folder before that were created just today. So I'm thinking they may be the cause. And I clicked it and ever since I've been recieving the same error. When I try to check for system errors in My computer> Properties. I get an error notice (the Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005) Click Ok to terminiate the application. I donloaded a prgram called ERRORDOCTOR just the trial version and it gave me the list of all the errors. The thing is you gotta buy the product in order for it to get rid of the bugs! And I don't have a credit card NOR the cash!!! EEK! Any ideas where I can get the program free or something like it thats free?

I would first check available disk space on the drive where your system is located (generally this is of course the C drive). Peculiar things can happen if it gets too low on space. Mine started doing that reboot thing in the middle of booting up, I forget where in the sequence though. It reaches a point where it has to load something but can't because your disk space has reached near 0 so the bootup isaborted and it tries to reboot. I think I used safe mode and then found out that my disk space was very very low (some video conversion program that would eat up space and not give it back if if couldn't finish for some reason - gigabytes of space that I didn't realize were disappearing).

Microsoft also has a program that will fix any system files that have been corrupted in some way but you may need your system disk. Some files can be replaced from some cache somewhere on your system but others are not there and therefore the disk is needed. I had some problem and used this utility but I forget the name of it. I had to download it from microsoft.

Microsoft also has a utility that will get your activeX controls working again if they ever stop. I had this happen to me not too long ago. They simply quit working and I still have no idea why. But this utility, again I can't recall the name, will fiz this problem.

Dang. Only time I've seen the C0000005 error in safe mode was when I had bad memory. If it's happening early in boot and it is a memory problem then the bad memory would probably be located on the first DIMM.

Cheers :)

Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new software, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

there's an apostrophe missing in what's. the phrase should say what is wrong with this. but the apostrophe combines the two words to say what's wrong with this. that's what's missing. and i'm not surprised that very few people realised it.
