Question:
Adobe Flash Player (plugin)?

Every time I want to watch a video on youtube, bbc, ect., it doesn't work and says "couldn't load plugin." On top of this, something often comes up and asks to run adobe flash player (which I have on my laptop and is updated to the current version). I either put "yes" or "always on this site," but nothing happens, and it still does not work.

It was working perfectly normally two days ago, but yesterday, it just completely stopped working. I have checked at chrome://plugins (as the server I am using is google chrome), and everything seems to be ok (everything is enabled). One interesting thing is that when I disable the adobe flash player and try to watch a video on youtube, it says that I need to update adobe flash player. This does not come up when I enable the flash player, and I have made perfectly sure that my flash player version is the most up to date one available.

One last thing is that the videos do seem to work on Mozilla Firefox. Would this indicate a fault with google chrome? Any helpful advice would be great.

Is happening to me as well. I can watch videos on youtube and only some other sites. But very often I see this pop up saying that I need to install Adobe Flash Player ( the new version), but every time I check it, it seems like everything is alright. I've even downloaded chrome again, but the same keeps happening. Obviously there's something wrong with chrome...

Okay it's like this:

If you use mutiple browsers you need the correct version of flash player for each browser.

If you have got Internet Explorer - it's flash player for windows.

If you've got Firefox - it's flash player for other browsers and you need to know if you require 32bit or 64 bit version.

If you've got Chrome it comes installed with it's own version of flash player.

So what does this really mean? It means that you end up with multiple versions of flash player! When you update flash player it does not ever fully remove the old versions. When you update Google Chrome it also doesn't remove the old versions.

Too many old versions of flash player or remnants of them will cause problems.

The simple answer to your problem is:

Run the flash player removal tool:

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

Reboot (important)

Head to Youtube using each installed browser (but not Chrome) and play a video. When you get prompted to download flash player - download it and install it. When you've got Internet Explorer and Firefox sorted out:

Run Old Chrome Remover: http://singularlabs.com/community/topic/oldchromeremover-remove-obsolete-google-chrome-versions/

Then reboot.

Everything flash player related should now work fine.

As a final check:

Run a scan with Secunia PSI and then fix any remaining problems that it detects:

https://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/how_it_works/

It checks for software that needs updating or remnants of old versions that need removing.

I have heard so many complaints about google chrome. from what I understand, it's new and there are still many bugs in it. firefox has been tried and tested, if that is what works for you; then just stick with firefox.

I know a technician with 7 years experience who says he just installs firefox on all his clients computers and has never had a problem.

maybe one day they will get the kinks out of chrome.

do away with your Foxfire. attempt internet Explorer somewhat. in case you have Windoews Vista, you are able to go into "classes" and undo and delete Foxfire. basically positioned your cursor over the line that reads "foxfire" and click. a delicate field could desire to show up on your decision. Now go as much as undo software. Clinck on that. Now wait.
