I just asked a similar question lol, windows is slow and invasive ruining your privacy right so you have ease of access and you aren't willing to stick up for your right and learn at the same time, download linux...open source where everyone works together to achieve a goal in a growing community, if .exe isn't available for linux then talk to someone, we can make some alternative that's faster more secure and better than windows by far... ... not only is windows ease of access, but its targeted by malicious users from Linux systems and extremely vulnerable to easily written codes from notepad++ .... so why pay for something that's just going to abuse your rights to freedom, exactly "switch" and don't go online without starting tor or a vpn,

How well do you like being watched whatever you search, either by google, your isp, or Microsoft data retrieval programs imbedded in your system along side the NSA's secret software to spy on you, yes it's in your windows registry ... and detected by katpersky labs first ! , so yes switch now... and hash your isp nameservers, and use a vpn then tor, that way your isp only sees the vpn , alter the about:config in firefox to go to duckduckgo and turn off geo location, and googles protection services, alter the pipelining to quicken firefox

Then after you got all that up, you can feel that you some what have a peice of your freedom back

Note: to users downgrading, don't! A few months before windows 10 was release windows 7 became extremely vulnerable to brute force attacks

THE WINDOWS 10 Anniversary Update is quick off the mark doing the things major OS patches always do, which is making hundreds of people complain that it's broken their systems.

Oh, you again.

No, I do not. I think it's one of the better home OSes I've used (on a main machine) in some time. I think you are pretending to be what you are not, and this thing you are not so bright for thinking I would fall for your stupid crap.

Windows has always been slow since windows Vista. I think its partly because it is designed for the most-very-technical masses so a lot of "layers" have to be added to accomplish really simple commands. After a while, i had had enough of the slowness. I switched to Linux mint and I have never looked back

Yep, but do you really think Microsoft gives a shite?

If your windows 10 is slow it needs to be factory reset! Stupid yes lots of really stupid crap like not leaving your installed drivers alone! Can't choose what updates you want.

Removes 3 party software each time a big update comes! Can't make a system image on the same drive like windows 7!. Redundant start menu but at least you can remove those icons!

Sucky color scheme! Now in my opinion what Microsoft should do is take windows 10s improved code and patch it in to the windows 7 interface make it look and behave exactly like windows 7 but bring the kernel and codes

Up to date to handle the modern hardware.

Windows 7 was most loved that horrible looking marketware of windows 10 and Cortana that makes herself a pest no!!

Boo boo Microsoft.

Yes, mine just updated itself for "improvements", and now it's slower than ever. The best version is Windows 7. Recently I installed Adguard AdBlocker as well as Ghostery, and that slowed things down even more. Axle's advice is best (see first answer).

I'm running Windows 10 on a PC with a processor from 2008 and haven't had a problem with speed. I do have the OS installed on an SSD so that probably helps. Other than startup time being faster than with 7 I haven't seen a difference in performance.

:( Poor Windows 10 always gets dissed. But I think Windows 7 is faster and better, so long as you don't have too much CPU being used, but that goes for pretty much any computer.

I'm having no problems with Windows 10 after the first year. If your computer with Windows 10 is slow, then you have problems other than Microsoft Windows. I'm running Windows 10, and was very skeptical of the myriad of complaints about MS 10. After seeing that many people who complained about Windows 10 had computers that weren't ready for Windows 10 and that was their problem, I upgraded to Windows 10 after having to upgrade my graphics card to satisfy Windows 10 needs. No problems after the upgrade and 10 runs just as well as Windows 7 did. No complaints here! You need to perform regular maintenance on your system, both with your files and the physical maintenance of keeping your computer free of dust/dirt inside to prevent heating the components up and slowing them down.

It works good on good machines. It runs like a charm on my PC build but I've tried it on other, less powerful systems and it runs like syrup down a mountain.

As an IT professional, I primarily work on servers, but i also also build the system images for the desktops and laptops.

From a deployment standpoint, windows 10 outperforms windows 7, but our windows 7 images were designed with windows xp still on our minds (and in our hearts... R.I.P. Windows XP). By the time we rolled out 10, there were no remaining attachmemts to the old way of deploying images (ris, sms, wds, etc.), but nothing goes problem free when you manage a fleet of about 4000 workstations.

I can't say managing Windows 10 machines on a domain is any better or worse, but surprisingly, the help desk gets less calls since the rollout. From an administrative standpoint, windows 10 works better than expected.

The only PC's that seem to run slow, are the ones that ran slow before the upgrade. From a clean install, windows 10 seems to perform a little better than 7.

I hate using it though. In an attempt to make windows 10 a little more "user proof", they hid a lot of settings.

no, you just have a crappy computer that can't handle it, especially if you upgraded from windows 7 or something. and you might have a lot of bloat ware, go uninstall all of it. its not windows fault that its on their, the company your computer is from put all that stuff on there that you might not want, but they are paid to put it on there as well as they want to put their software on there. if you build your omputer, or get a higher end gaming computer, they usually don't put bloatware on theirs.

I don't know how many people I have told NOT to upgrade to Windows 10. I am seriously considering going back to Win 7. The Microsoft people took out all the useful stuff and filled it up with junk. Now you have to buy from Microsoft and others the programs you use to use (Media Player, Office). I guess they need the money to keep their army functioning.

Yes really slow
2017-04-15 16:03:46 UTC
all windoze versions are slow. micro$oft deliberately puts out bloatware to slow down your system with every new windoze release. bill gates is in bed with intel and the hardware manufacturers. they have an understanding. as long as the computer vendors install windoze on all their systems, micro$oft will bloat every new windoze release so you are forced to buy a new computer after every os upgrade.

and, of course, your hardware drivers won't work on the new windoze release so you're forced to buy all new hardware. and of course the software won't run on the new widoze release or with the new hardware, so you're forced to buy all new software upgrades. and, of course, your old web browsers and media software won't work on the internet anymore so you're forced to upgrade to new browsers and new media software, which forces you to upgrade to the new windoze, which forces you to buy all new hardware and software.

so the bottom line is micro$soft and the hardware and software vendors work together to force you to keep spending money and buy all new everything every year. companies don't make money by keeping your old computers, peripherals and software running. they only make money by making your old computer obsolete and forcing you to keep upgrading.

don't patronize micro$oft and their cronies. SWITCH TO LINUX.

if you used to upgrade it from the microsoft updater thing then it will be slower than usual.

By the way when you use the upgrade from the setup it will be slow a bit for about half an hour cuz it indexes the files

strip out all the unnecessary cr ap,

then its just the same as windows 7.

it is easy enough to do without wrecking the system,

it takes about an hour to do.

or you could simply use linux.
